And your piss poor Mac support for all of your devices, awful (if non-existant) syncing and overpriced proprietary maps. You have promised mac apps for years and have always failed to deliver.

You still suck. Even with your iPhone app.
I'll agree that their Mac support has been poor but their GPS routes/accuracy have always been the best.

You could get a beta key by pre-ordering the game at Game Stop. Although at this point I would confirm before doing it since the Beta won't be lasting too much longer. When I log in it says something about it expiring June 21st. So maybe they aren't giving keys anymore. If you did it in-store it printed on your receipt. Online they were supposed to e-mail it to you within a day. From what I understand they stopped giving out keys on the 17th of May.

No, you made his point because you went all defensive and fearful over Android.

It's not any "harder" to use or figure than iOS. Heck, the iPhone has a 274 page user manual... So much for "intuitive".

Huh?! I didn't think I got defensive over Android. I don't know how just stating Android was difficult to use translates to "I am defensive and fearful over Android".

I just stated Android was difficult to use. That's similar to saying I like eating icecream out of the box rather than taking my time putting it in a bowl or a cone and then eating it. See what I'm saying? Now, some people may like the latter way but I much prefer iPhone's navigation, iPhone browser, perfect integration with iTunes, iCal, Mail and others, and the App Store to Android. That said, I do like a lot of the Android features, especially the notification bar that just amazed me.

I use iPhone because I found it much intuitive to use. If you take my iPhone away and force me to use Android, will I enjoy it? No of course not but I won't be fearful of using it...geez.

P.S. Android has over 300 pages of user manual. But that's beside the point right? ;)

Does this mean we might actually see a 3GHz G5 Powerbook?

I know really. I could see the tagline now:

The new PowerBook G5. Power cords are a thing of the past.

Yea, kinda cheesy, but you get the idea. :)

ARRGGGH! You guys beat me to it.

I was certain we were getting G5 Powerbooks on Tuesday based on this news.:D

Misleading headline, if it weren't for the question mark. The article seems like an ad for Symantec. The author begins by refuting the "NSFW" assertion but then ends saying that Symantec might offer a good solution.

I haven't ever been under general anesthesia per se, but for having my wisdom teeth out about 3 weeks ago I was sedated by IV injection with Diprivan (basically the same thing as a general anesthesia from my perspective -- I was out). An hour beforehand I had taken Ativan as a tranquilizer and during the operation I was given three shots, one of which was Demerol (pain killer) and I think one of the others was Valium. I didn't really perceive anything much that I remember until a while after the surgery -- though third-party accounts indicate that halfway home from the oral surgeon I was able to finally determine that I was in a car on Dodge Street -- but the amnesia effect of the Diprivan was pretty strong (there may have been Versed, I don't know). I do however very vaguely -- almost like a distant dream -- remember waking up after the surgery and telling the nurse I wasn't ready to leave recovery yet.

Basically it's like nothing at all -- my tranquilized self got into a dental chair, the doctor stuck a butterfly-type IV in my right elbow, and hooked up a syringe of white liquid. I asked what was in the IV, the nurse said it was Diprivan, and I felt myself fade out.

Obviously back surgery under general anesthesia will be different from oral surgery under conscious sedation, but I've shared my experience FWIW.

One possibility is that they could go to a 3.7" and still keep the 960x640 resolution. This would allow for a larger screen and it could still maintain it's "retina" display at ~311 pixels per inch (if I did my math right :o). I'm sure they could tweak some apps like Safari to take advantage of the larger screen size (without breaking 3rd party apps that are already built for the 960x640 resolution).

That was wierd. When i came to this forum just now. I thing stuck to my screen even when i scolled up and down, it said "macrumors - FoldingTracker (a widget just for you!)"

anyone had this before. It does not do it again. I got a screen shot of it. I will post it later.

(i did a fast crop of it)

Yeah, I get that bug sometimes too, started in panther. I think it's triggered when you activate expos and then remove in some funny way, like really fast and then only moving your cursor like one pixel. But it's pretty hard to do it purposely.

I think it's likely that he has cancer. Or some issue related to his past bout with it. But fact remains that we do not know for sure. I don't know, and neither do you. Stating that fact is not "denial".
    OK.
We'll leave it there and get back to that after Apple's official press release one day.

"There is no such thing as bad publicity."

The iPhone 4's antenna fiasco is totally bad publicity.

Just like Windows Vista, the general public already has an opinion of the product before they even try it and their for refuse to adopt to it.

Here we go kids!! Expect lot's of grandstanding and some real knee jerk legislation cause this IS the year to gear up for the big election. I wish someone would inform people that it's their responsibility to be informed consumers AND parents. My kid racked up $380 in cell downloads in one month. I didn't need my senator to step in. I took away her phone for a month, blocked her ability to purchase ANYTHING on it, and worked out the bill with my provider (AT&T) who practically wiped it all away. This is just going to burden us with more laws and subsequently, more taxes in the form of direct taxation of products, indirect taxes by way of price hikes due to a rise in business tax, or BOTH.

All well and good but why didn't you make her pay the full bill herself? Gets the point across real good when that money you were saving up goes bye bye. Or half your allowance for a very long time

So a 17 year old can do it but a gigantic company with $50 billion lying there can't. Seems logical to me.

    Wake up Steve. Seriously.

There's quite a difference between supplying 450 kits and selling 4-5 million white phones.

Record industry trade magazine Music Week said the release of the CD single was likely to give the X Factor winner "a massive boost".

I work in a music store, people were buying several copies of Joe McEldry's (sp?) single at a time today and we've had people asking for it since Monday morning. And Amazon's selling the track for 29p.

Guy at work asked if I was joing in the Rage thing. I think you've got more chance of steering a train personally.

When it comes to music people often just buy utter crap. Seriously, they just buy what Heat magazine tells them to.

When I was deciding on getting a laptop, an HP Envy was suggested over the MacBook Pro 13 because it's supposedly just as good as a MacBook Pro.

Here's a video of an HP Envy along side a MacBook Pro 13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0eTnABVBgw

Just seeing all the problems with that piece of crap made me decide that I'll buy the Mac. :) But, why else do you expect from a cheap Windows PC??

You'll have to explain how a person would do a worse job simply because of their ethnicity.

I don't actually think ethnicity makes a difference but it's an interesting thought experiment.

Imagine you move to a country where nobody talks to white people. White people are totally ignored, irrespective of anything. Naturally then, if you employed a white person to work in a shop they'd do an awful job because they wouldn't be able to serve any of the racist clientele.

If we can choose against people by how well they'd do a job, and being white would mean you couldn't do a job, could we choose not to employ a white person because of this?
