My understanding is that, you wouldn't have an 'A#' when you apply for I-485(if it's first time). If it is second time, then you have to mention the 'A#' assigned to you. Guys, please correct me if I am wrong.
You do have an A number-you're assigned one when you get your approved I140. I remember having to tell my lawyer on my own to put it on there (in front of me) he didn't even think to do it himself:mad:

How come they cannot consider my EAD, Official transcripts, Graduate status letter?
Regarding Status letter, I have seen students applying like this and getting query later. What do you say about the students graduating in May (who files like me with OPT card and status letter) and applying for H1 in April?
You can postpone your graduation but you need to have completed all your credit hours and thesis work if any before you can apply on the master's degree quota. That is what people use their status letters for, to tell the USCIS that they have completed all degree requirements but will graduate later. In your case, since you haven't finished your degree requirements and will not do so by the time you apply for your H1B, the status letter is of no use.

Few years ago I evaluated my 3-year engineering diploma from ECE to transfer some credits toward a bachelors degree at Arizona State University. It was evaluated as 10+2+1, and it clearly said that the US equivalency was High School Diploma with One Year of Undergraduate study. So it was not even equivalent to an Associates degree. However, I never had a H-1B visa and neither I work in IT, so I never had to run it through USCIS.

I guess then she should ask her employer to cancel her H1 (best approach) or least keep documentation of her resignation letter (backup for future RFE). Smart way is to step out of country & come back on parole. Shortcut is to work in some place for a week on I9 like Walmart.

I have changed H1-B several times in the last 11 years i have been in this country. I have invoked AC-21 twice. None of my previous employers revoked my H1-B. I am currently working on EAD. I did not have to leave the country and come back on parole.

My priority date (July 06 ) and EB3-ROW . I got couple of LUD ( 4 after June 30, 2009) recently on my I-485 application. In fact I got a LUD today also. I am wondering whether you also got any LUD recently.

My thought was the same as yours in that by attaching my 485 receipt notice, and 140 approval notice when my spouse files for his 140/485, we can just inform USCIS at that time to connect our 485 applications. Based on that, once my spouse gets his green card, I would get mine as well.
I wasn't sure how it would work out if we waited for his 140 approval to come before we informed USCIS. Since he is from a non-retrogressed country, I was thinking that the safest approach would be to inform them sooner than later. You mentioned that I could file as a derivative once his 140 was approved. But the idea is not to file another 485 application for me. In my opinion that would confuse things further.
What steps are you taking in your case? I'm assuming that you and your spouse each have only one 485 application, each being independent of the other?

The desperation of your post suggests that you don't need direction, you need therapy. We just need someone to give us some assurance that we will all be fine and live to see the light of the day on Tuesday even if DoS sends out a revised Visa Bulletin. At this time, I too need similar assurance from someone. Can anybody help?
